- predicatives don't follow the rules of objects
Examples for a "total action":
- read a book from cover to cover (totally)
- eat the whole ham (a defined amount)
- to see someone (quickly, once)
Examples of a "partial action":
- read something in a book (some pages, an undefined amount)
- eat some ham ("some")
- to be looking at someone (continuous actions)
- to love, to hate (continuous actions, usually)
